Job Description

Performs moderately complex (journey-level) licensing work. Work involves receiving and reviewing license and registration applications; ensuring compliance with applicable policies, codes, and statutes; communicating with external and internal customers. Works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Job Functions

Receives and reviews license and registration applications and amendments.

Accurately inputs information into license and registration database.

Maintains records associated with license and registration applications, fee payments, and necessary forms to approve or deny applications.

Provides customer service to the general public; and supplies information regarding license and registration processing, policies, and procedures.

Assists in approving applications for licenses and registrations based on codes, ordinances, and agency policies and procedures.

Assists in preparing correspondence, memos, and reports related to license and registration activities and compliance.

Ensures compliance for license applications, registrations, zoning and inspections, and other state and federal requirements.

Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent required.

Two (2) years of experience in customer service, clerical, administrative, or technical support work.

College level education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in processing licenses and permits and experience in the credit or lending industry.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of office practices.

Knowledge of administrative and technical procedures.

Knowledge of applicable policies, administrative codes, and statutes.

Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

Skill in the use of standard office equipment, computers, and computer software.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to respond to public inquiries in a timely manner.

Ability to implement administrative procedures.

Ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Ability to be detail-oriented and work well on own initiative to meet deadlines.
