The Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner (OCCC) is pleased to announce that the agency is transitioning business licenses to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS). The OCCC looks forward to implementing NMLS as part of an ongoing effort to enhance operational efficiency and modernize the licensing experience for regulated industries.
Timeline
The OCCC will transition license types to NMLS in phases. The agency completed the transition of Property Tax Lenders in May 2025. The transition period for Regulated Lenders begins on July 15, 2025 and will remain open through September 15, 2025. Transition dates for other industries will be published on the OCCC website as they become available.
About NMLS
NMLS is a secure web-based system created by state regulators to provide efficiencies in the processing of state licenses and to improve supervision of state-regulated industries. Through NMLS, companies maintain a single record which they use to apply for, maintain, renew, and surrender license authorities in one or more states. NMLS also contains functionality for the submission of documents and other information required for license types administered by the OCCC.
