New Credit Access Business Application:


Businesses wishing to apply for a Credit Access Business license must create an account and submit the application using ALECSPlease turn your browsers auto fill feature off prior to beginning your application. To avoid any potential glitches, please use Chrome or Firefox browsers.

  • Effective March 16, 2026, all new CAB applications must be submitted through the NMLS.

Existing Licensees:

Notice of Transition to the NMLS

The OCCC hereby provides notice that Credit Access Businesses will begin transitioning from ALECS to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) effective March 16, 2026.

Transition Period:
March 16, 2026 through May 18, 2026

Licensees are encouraged to begin gathering Internal Revenue Service (IRS) documentation reflecting an exact match of the entity’s legal name and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), if such documentation is not already available.

Existing NMLS Account Holders:
Please ensure that your NMLS account remains active and monitor your email for further communications from OCCC.

NMLS Call Center

Please note that OCCC staff do not have access to NMLS in the same capacity as applicants. We are unable to view your account or upload documents on your behalf. For help with account creation, system navigation, or uploading documents, we recommend contacting the NMLS Call Center at 1-855-665-7123 (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM ET).

Transfer Existing License Applications:


Businesses wishing to complete a transfer of license can do so using ALECS. The buyer should create a new account and initiate the process under Manage My Business.

Renewal Dates


December 01 – Renewal Opens
December 31 – Renewal Closes ***Licenses not renewed by midnight will cancel-nonrenewable and you will need to reapply***
